One Molesworth Street

On this prominent city centre site, junction of Dawson Street and Moleworth Street, the granted proposal is for a class leading new office building with ground & lower ground floor retail. The buildings expression is thoughtfully shaped and detailed to allow it to connect and integrate into its historic surroundings.

The intention is to provide a simple yet finely detailed façade which echoes and complements its surrounding context. On the Molesworth Street and Dawson Lane façade deep stone reveals with stone fins resonances the surrounding Georgian plot size giving the façade an appropriate rhythm and mass. The Dawson Street façade features a bronze “brise soleil” with glass fin infill, the composition reflects the commercial nature of the street. The five levels of office accommodation feature flexible large 12 metre spans with floor to ceiling glazing.

The office accommodation is entered off Molesworth Street through a triple height and bronze framed entrance.
